Chapter 5 - Travel
Location: New New York
Timeline: 2090
When Lucious arrived with his own android assistant and Ryder escorting him, the whole team was working hard at their plans for the future and barely noticed that they had arrived. Unceremoniously, Ryder cleared his throat to get someone’s attention, which startled everyone in the room. “Sorry, I tried calling, but no one answered and he insisted.”
Aurelia was on her feet instantly. “Oh no, it’s perfectly fine. Please, let’s talk in the living room. It’s far more comfortable than...” Pausing, she glanced around the workshop. They still had shelves of electronics along with parts and datapads strewn about. It was great for productivity, but meeting with people? Not so much.
Lucious just smiled that room filling smile of his and wrapped an arm around Aurelia, his hand just barely brushing the fabric of her outfit. “Wherever you like is heavenly for me. Just seeing you here and knowing you’re safe and sound is all I need.”
This caught the red headed sorceress off guard and she stared up into his bright blue eyes, wide eyed and slowly turning red. “I um... Yeah, I’m fine.”
The Crimson King reached up and gingerly cupped her cheek, barely touching her skin as he spoke softly. “When I heard that something else had happened to you, I feared the worst. I dropped everything I could and made arrangements to meet with you.”
His android assistant interjected with a rather insistent tone. “Young Lord, might I remind you that you have responsibilities that you are unable to shirk? Especially...”
“I am well aware, CT. You don’t need to keep mothering me all the time like that.” Lucious’s face softened and he shook his head in defeat. “Aurelia, I don’t know what I’d do without her. She’s been family for as long as I can remember.”
“I know what you mean. I’d be lost without Becca. She handles so much and keeps everything so organized.” Aurelia took his body language as a cue that she could let her guard down, even if just slightly and lowered her voice as she pressed her body against his. He in return wrapped his strong arms around her with a tenderness that she hadn’t realized for which she had been yearning for ages. ”I um... Had a proposal for you. I want to build up a small business...”
“Shhh...” He silenced her with a quick kiss to her forehead. He obviously wanted to do more, but he settled for that for now. ”Whatever you desire, you have my full support. I’ll help you make it happen. I want nothing more than to see your ambitions come to fruition.”
The normally confident and outgoing sorceress was all but putty in the Crimson King’s hands and it seemed her subordinates were left slack-jawed as she tried to find the words to express herself. “Oh, well thank you. Becca has all the details of what we need. I’d like to build some prototypes, try and make the world a better place, start a corporation... We even have a name already. United Sol.”
As she spoke, Becca handed a datapad to CT, Lucious’s assistant, with all the details before shoo-ing the others in the room off so they would return to work for now. As for Aurelia herself, she was leaning her head against the Crimson King’s chest and listening to his heart beat, her hands delicately exploring his back. Everyone knew where this was going except apparently Aurelia.
In fact, Ember knew it so well that her half succubus self felt like she was on fire. “I’m sorry but can we call it a day? I have something personal I need to take care of and I need some help taking care of it. Eldrin? Ryder? Do you mind helping me? In my bedroom? Right now?”
“But we still have so much...” Eldrin began before Ember gave him a meaningful look and pointed out the door, when he finally got the hint. “I mean, yeah we should probably take a break.”
Ryder was just grinning from ear to ear - he knew what was coming and just followed Ember out of the room like a puppy. He was always happy to help out his succubus girlfriend with whatever she needed and if she was hinting at a three way? Hells yes.
CT held up the datapad and remarked on it to Becca. “These projections and requests are logical, though I estimate your timeline to be flawed. I request remediation and discussion with you.”
“Granted. Shall we do so while I perform other functions?” Becca replied.
“Granted. I will assist you.” Surreptitiously, CT winked at her master as they too left the room.
“It looks like we’re all alone,” Lucious whispered in Aurelias’s ear. “And I have to admit that I’d like to show you how much I’ve come to care for you as well. If you’ll let me, that is.”
In this, Aurelia was torn. “Lucious, there’s something you need to know, first.” She paused for a moment and stared up into his eyes, the agony in hers tearing at her as all she could see was the Lucious she knew in her old world. The son of the king that had betrayed her. “There was someone just like you in my past life. A prince. I loved him so much.”
“And his father is the one that ordered your execution? Carried out by one of your best apprentices?” That gleam in his eyes only deepened his appeal and the mystery of who this Lucious really was.
Curiously, she pulled away slightly, her arms still wrapped around him. “How... I didn’t even tell Elena that. How do you know?”
“My dearest Selene, do you really think that you’re the only one with memories from other lives? I had no hope of ever seeing you in that life, but now here you are.” He used one finger to gingerly push a stray strand of hair behind her ear, smiling at her softly. “Whereas you reincarnated into someone who had passed on, I was born into this world with my memories intact. I’m sorry for not telling you earlier. We’ve never been alone like this before.”
“That doesn’t even... How?” Now she was confused, but she was also comforted knowing that this wasn’t another universe clone of her Lucious, but another life of the same one.
“As soon as I found out, I went to the Oracles and they... Well, they were confusing.”
She couldn’t help but giggle softly and rest her head back against his chest. “Yeah, they’ve confused me more than a few times as well. But they got you here before I did?”
“Something like that. They told me I’d be born into the same world before you. That I wouldn’t recognize you but I would know you by other means. And they were right. I had mafia ancestry here so I ran with it and used my skills as a royal to build connections and try to pave the way for you.”
“You didn’t have to, you know. We could have just lived forever in a moss hut and I would have been happy.”
“I was bored and I wanted to be able to make all your dreams come true. You know how I can be sometimes.” With a chuckle, he hugged her a bit tighter to him. “You may be my world, but I want your world to be as amazing as you can imagine.”
“And I think I know where to start with how to make this world just a bit better.” No longer hesitating, she leaned up and kissed him passionately, slipping her tongue past his lips and exploring the inside of his mouth slowly. For several long moments, they stood there, lips locked together in a passionate display before they finally broke free to catch their breathes.
“Gods how I have missed you,” Aurelia gasped as she tried to press herself tighter to Lucious’s well muscled body.
“Do you remember that little bit of magic we used in the bedroom?” He asked as he reached around her and picked her up in a princess carry.
This time a wide grin spread across her face. “I think I can recall it. Hey, do you think there’s a market for pills enchanted with it?”
“My dearest, nothing sells better than sex in this world. Let me ravish you and show you why,” He declared as he easily carried her to her bedroom to do just that.
